Radiohead, at Glastonbury Festival in 2003, playing "Idioteque". By 2003 most people had accepted the idea that it was no longer possible to crash the festival and hence it is recognised as one of the most successful years to date. The number of tickets available to the public was increased slightly over 2002, partially in response to criticism that the 2002 festival was underpopulated and lacked atmosphere. The tickets sold out within one day of going on sale, in marked contrast to the two months it took to sell a similar number in 2002. It was also the first year that tickets sold out before the full lineup was announced. This was also the year Radiohead returned to headline the Pyramid Stage. Revenue raised for good causes from ticket and commercial licence sales topped £1 million, half of which went to Oxfam, Greenpeace and Water Aid.

http://www.smoothE.tv. This was originally animated in 2003, but I'm bringin' it back for 2008! This animation got millions of views before anyone was counting. It also made international headlines and played heavily on TV and radio. How did it happen? Before there was YouTube, there was flash animation. Jason Kwon, a Smooth-E fan from North Carolina, decided to practice his flash skills on my parody song, "Hanukkah Hey Ya!" He never intended it to be watched. He just tucked it into a dark corner of his "file-style" website. As you can see, he did a great job, and people found out about it whether he liked it or not. It spread like wildfire online and offline, and Jason unintentionally hipped a lot of people to my work. Thanks, J! I love this animation because Jason captured a lot of the humor of the song. His innocent lack of knowledge of Jewish traditions makes it even funnier!

The Trailer for The Texas Chainsaw Movie (2003 version), starring Jessica Biel, R Lee Ermey, Jonathan Tucker, Erica Leerhsen, Mike Vogel and Eric Balfour. I already saw some versions of this trailer here on YouTube, but they were shorter and showed less footage of the movie, so I posted this one. (This trailer comes from the Apple Trailers website, and is not made by me) The songs played at the beginning is called 'Song to the Siren' originally by Jeff/Tim (thanks PinkCloud37) Buckley, but most famously covered by a 1980's goth band named "This Mortal Coil", but the version in this trailer was recorded by a girl from a band called "Moneypenny"/Synchronic Music in the WB studio and isn't available for download anywhere, nor has it been released on CD. The song at the end of the trailer (01:46) is called "Signal to Noise" by Peter Gabriel, from the Gangs of New York OST, but it's a remade version for this movie... The story was based on a man called "Ed Gein" but he didn't use a chainsaw. The cannibalistic familiy depicted here never existed!!!
