Focs'le Follies is a vaunted tradition in naval aviation. At the end of each line period, the squadrons on the ship gather to recognize which pilots have performed the best and to make fun of each other. One squadron is selected to perform a skit — in this case, VMFA-232, "The Red Devils." Ziegfeld Follies is a 1946 Hollywood musical comedy film, directed by Roy Del Ruth and Vincente Minnelli, starring many of MGM leading talents, including Fred Astaire, Lucille Bremer, Judy Garland, Kathryn Grayson, Lena Horne, Gene Kelly, Victor Moore, William Powell, Red Skelton, Lucille Ball, and Esther Williams. It also featured Fanny Brice, the only cast member to have actually starred in the original Ziegfeld Follies. Producer Arthur Freed wanted to create a film along the lines of the Ziegfeld Follies Broadway shows and so the film is composed of a sequence of unrelated lavish musical numbers and comedy sketches. Although produced in 1944-45, it was released in 1946, to considerable critical and box-office success.

Hylton recorded this medley for the lost Fox feature film offering a typical exuberant 20's dance show, shot by means of the newly developed movietone system. The music was recorded for Gramophone in 1929 and comprises: 'That' You, Baby'; 'Walking With Susie'; 'Breakaway' and 'Big City Blues'. Vocal by Sam Browne and an uncredited chorus The astonishing picture in this video is a reproduction of a publicity poster announcing the film release.
