January 2005 Revenue from Angola's oil reserves should be aiding the country's development. But instead, it's being used as a slush fund for government corruption. Deep in Luanda's sewers, a group of boys show us around their home. "I'm desperate for help," begs one. "I'm eating rubbish, surrounded by others who are sniffing glue." According to the latest calculations, 9% of the country's GDP is siphoned off. Even the US ambassador admits that oil revenues are not going to "the Angolan people." Ordinary Angolans know they're being ripped off by their leaders. They're seething with resentment. In the Angolan enclave of Cabinda, this discontent has fuelled a separatist movement which has been fighting for years. With more and more Angolans asking awkward questions, there's a risk the country will collapse into anarchy again if the corruption problem isn't addressed.

the collection live 1992 No Frontiers (Jimmy McCarthy) If life is a river and your heart is a boat And just like a water baby, baby born to float And if life is a wild wind that blows way on high Then your heart is Amelia dying to fly Heaven knows no frontiers And I've seen heaven in your eyes And if life is a bar room in which we must wait 'Round the man with his fingers on the ivory gates Where we sing until dawn of our fears and our fates And we stack all the deadmen in self addressed crates In your eyes faint as the singing of a lark That somehow this black night Feels warmer for the spark Warmer for the spark To hold us 'til the day When fear will lose its grip And heaven has its way Heaven knows no frontiers And I've seen heaven in your eyes If your life is a rough bed of brambles and nails And your spirit's a slave to man's whips and man's jails Where you thirst and you hunger for justice and right Then your heart is a pure flame of man's constant night In your eyes faint as the singing of a lark That somehow this black night Feels warmer for the spark Warmer for the spark To hold us 'til the day when fear will lose its grip And heaven has its way And heaven has its way When all will harmonise And know what's in our hearts The dream will realise Heaven knows no frontiers And I've seen heaven in your eyes Heaven knows no frontiers And I've seen heaven in your eyes

Google TechTalks April 11, 2006 Alberto Conti Carol Christian ABSTRACT A revolution is now underway in Astronomy and Astrophysics. The next decade will witness the completion of massive, wide-area, multicolor imaging and spectroscopic surveys of the local and distant Universe. With its strong legacy of public outreach, Hubble's Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) has been responsible for how most of the world views our universe. We recognize that, given the coming flood of information, the next step of this task is to allow users to actively explore the cosmos themselves. In this talk we hope to show some of the potential explorations of this wealth of data to help us all better...
