One of my favorite songs from the one of my favorite artists. There's something beautifully nostalgic about this song that moves my heart... I tried to think of a "creative video" for this tune, but yet I couldn't find any concept that would've lived up the beauty of this masterpiece. When I came across a "tire swing picture", I thought "that's it" - it's my personal reflection of this song. I wanted everyone to focus on the lyrics and music, even with their eyes closed, hence just that one humble picture that "tells it all". To me Imogen Heap is a wonder musician, an Artist in every meaning of that word - I'm glad somehow my posting this song helped get more and more people into her music. It's about a song, one's personal moment, a feeling. Hope you don't mind, Immi.. you deserve every piece of admiration you get. The song is from Goodnight & Go single. hello... I just wrote a HUGE long blog to go with this but it's too youtube just told me it's too darned long... so will put as much as I can in here but go and have a look at my iblog at imogenheap.com or myspace.com/imogenheap for the rest.. Hello my lovelies... Thank you all for your birthday wishes left in all the various places. I've just had a very healthy fancy fruit salad for a very late breakfast then ate all the round toffee ones from a pack of chocolates someone gave me. I know this is cliche but BOY this year has flown by! What the?? Quite scary! I barely had time to get used to 30 and now I'm 31. That had better not keep happening or i'll be 105 before I know it! Thank goodness Justine's been filming as I've been going along so I can remember what I got up to in this blur. If you haven't watched the new vblog watch it now... warning... major plot spoiler after this full stop. That's right.. you probably guessed it. Little Miss Heap didn't make the finish line for her birthday this year (moves onto long rectangular chocolate coated toffee ones)...This album has taken me by surprise so many times. I really feel like I'm taking this huge strong dog out for an endless walk and it's running about it all directions...sniffing over there, chasing that rabbit, running into bushes and ponds . I've just had to go with it. Also like a dog.. you can't leave it for too long or it gets the hump with you. If I could just somehow shut everything else off for 6 months I could have finished it by now but with PopTech! Nitin Sawhney gigs and song, Jeff Beck gigs, silent movie accompaniment, a jaw harp appearance, weddings, birthdays, laundry, accounts, the Mika song, Little Spirit (or not as the case may be), IAMX remix, vblogs! Japanese classes, getting my driving license, trying to get/keep fit, building a studio from scratch, feeding everyone who was working on building it, taking on the family home and all this whilst filming the whole process with Justine behind the camera... It's not been easy to find time to get on with it! Now there's christmas getting in the way godammit! I love that you're all on this trip with me. I can't tell you how helpful it is to have you all here egging me on. Not having a boyfriend this time around has been quite a different experience. There's no-one to shake and wake up to tell them all the exciting news from the latest goings on in the studio. That's why I'm digging more than ever blogging and more recently using twitter. I think I'm developing a twitter twitch. So the big question, I can hear you all ask from my kitchen table already, before you've even read this... WHEN IS IT COMING OUT HEAP?

Wooop! I, The Grim (pumpkin) Heaper bring you more ramblings. Among missed flights, no sleep and new gear breathes inspiration, a fresh energy and glass harmonicas. I'm loving the improv/all for charity idea. Gonna be interesting. Will find someone to create a program/way to collect data for people at the gigs to input their improv preferences. You could choose Instruments, key, tempo, scale.... somehow we'll get the data in on the night...average it out and see what kind of song say Edinburgh, Austin, Paris or Tokyo likes...Could be a nice little experiment? I may even get good at it (I wasn't very good at Pop!Tech but it was my first time!). Met some fab people and heard some great ideas. Still following up on trails. Will be collaborating hopefully with some other people too from it but will tell you about those later. For now... enjoy! I'll catch up with you in a couple of weeks xxx Love fluv! Hello there petals. This week....I am Texanswiss, firedress, hanglove, Mikameet, Tidalwarble, Waititoutzachbraff, Oh Deer, immiinthemiddle, redfaceboxing, busybee but still lunchtimeweeding. Lots done since my last check in with you. Finished vocals and basic structure/ bare bones ideas for both "Tidal" and "Wait it out". Went to fetch my "Hang" that I've been waiting for ages to get (long waiting list!) from beautiful Bern, saw a load of friends, some writing for "First train home" and punched Angela for about 30mins. This is a music video I made for Imogen Heaps song "Just for Now." This was a class assignment for my video class and I think it turned out pretty well. Just to clarify, this is not my song, I am in no way affiliated with Imogen Heap, I just made the music video. This video stars Sarah Jones and was directed by Corey Thomas, aka me. P.S. If you're going to leave a comment about how much you hate the mouth thing, don't bother, someone, rather HUNDREDS of people have already said covered that. Basically my artistic vision was a whole lot more ambitious than what the outcome actually was, because I was limited in my skill and knowledge of the software. Essentially the "out of mouth" pull shots would have worked much better if I knew then what I know now, and I used them so often so there would be one aspect of the video that would stay static while everything else about the video changed ex: the scenery, the actors, etc. Hopefully after reading this you will all have a better understanding of what I was trying to accomplish. ALSO watch Kylie Minogues video "Come Into My World" as another example (it also influenced me while making my video,) the camera follows her around the same circle over and over again, but things constantly change in the background.

Ewo..big Heap 'ere, once again... with fresh daisy ramble-ons. All is well...I'm feeling energized! Not for long though coz I'm going for my 10km run this Sunday. 47 minutes is the goal. That is apparently not a light jogging pace so who knows... I'm just gonna go as fast for as I can as long as I can...and hope that gets me somewhere close to the finish before my body realized it's completely shattered! Fancy donating? Hello everyone. xxxxxx Happy New Year and all that malarkey! Here's the latest, or close to being anyway. Serving Jury Service. I tell you ... if it's not one thing it's a bleedin' nother. Made a little start on Bad Body Double. Very small on though. It's been in the minus degrees INSIDE the house coz no gas over Christmas. Brrr..was still great though. I know it looks like I'm not getting much music done....and well...that is the truth but believe me it's not for lack of trying! Somehow this album WILL get done. Those "little" things in life you need to do (fix heating/jury service/ wire the studio) add up to much sometimes there's simply no more room for the important big things! Happy New Year my lovelies! Hope it was a good one. Often NY's eve can be a right let down. All that build up for one night. As long as there's lots of silly dancing involved, no hour's wait at the bar and a good friend or two I'm totally happy. I was totally happy. A nice snog (kiss for those non Brits) wouldn't have gone a miss but hey.. I really needed to unwind and I think I'm almost there. It was a totally mad week last week with a few all nighters in the studio and no sleep but really glad I did it. It's so great to be by the sea here in Devon and out of the basement for a few days. A few of us ran into the freezing water yesterday morning. Was so brilliant. When I got back on the beach and closer to where my trainers were...I saw a dog investigating my trainers and then it peed on them! Then as if that wasn't bad enough... another dog came up and did the same... and then...no lie... a third dog came up and weed on them too! Lovely! I've decided it's good luck. I've been listening back a bit to the album so far with friends, playing it to whoever i can collar on the odd car journey with gorgeous scenery to drift off in and late last night by the fire. It's as if the album's literally talking to me saying.. OK... I need less piano here, more mbira in this spot and my bass line's not loud enough. I'm happy as I am... I'm not as finished as you thought I was... some taking me by surprise. I'm feeling at the moment.. like First Train Home wants to open the album but that may change like everything does seem to from day to day with me. To be honest A-ha! sounds like it's gonna struggle sitting on the park bench with the other songs and may have to nestle in a nice tree somewhere by the pond (a hidden track... ). Gonna go back home tomorrow and see what happens with the blank page. I have 6/7 ideas if nothing arises. Maybe the missing two will be among them... maybe not. I'm not going to start on the piano though. Want something a bit more cyclical and programmed to play with. The album is so dynamic that these two songs need to have quite a bit of space in them. Not necessarily slow and ambient or anything, just, small and beautiful. No big explosions. More like a constant stream/dream of mini sparklers. I'm off to eat some din dins. Love to you all. Justine and I will get together at some point next week and give you a more musical/ studio vblog. Just wanted to say hi and fill you in a bit though for now.
