[EDIT: Just realized I spelled Stephenie Meyer's name wrong right in the beginning and added an "s" to her last name, my bad. But it's correct in the end credits.]
My opinion on who should play who if a movie of The Host, based on the book by Stephenie Meyer, were to be created. Not every one of these actors were my idea, I did some looking at videos already on youtube about the host and who should play who, and some of them I agreed with, so I also used them. NOT my original ideas were: Ian O'Shea (saw it on a website and agreed), Jared Howe (saw it on a video and agreed 100%), Jamie Stryder (saw it on a video, pretty good choice, couldn't really think of any myself), Uncle Jeb (I don't really know many old actors, but when I saw Robert Duvall in someone else's video, it seemed like a good choice).
The song in the slide show is called Just Like You by Three Days Grace. The slide show was compiled by me using pictures I found on google.com.
In order of appearance from the slide show, here are the characters:
Melanie Stryder: Rashida Jones
Ian O'Shea: Matt Dallas
Kyle O'Shea: Tom Welling
Jared Howe: Jensen Ackles
Jamie Stryder: Liam Aiken
The Seeker/Lacey: Teal Redmann
Uncle Jeb: Robert Duvall
Wanderer/Wanda: Alexis Bledel
Sharon Stryder: Amy Davidson
Sunny/Jodi: Alison Pill
My reasonings:
Melanie (Rashida): She is dark-haired, fairly dark-skinned/tanned, is pretty, and looks..feisty? enough to play Melanie.
Ian (Matt): He's very kind looking, good for towards Wanda later in the book. He also has dark hair. I'm sure if he wanted to act not-so-nice, he could, but I haven't seen it, his role on Kyle XY is generally a nice, good kid who doesn't get enraged very often and isn't mean (for towards Wanda when she first arrives). But I don't doubt he could. I know he doesn't really have blue eyes, but still a nice choice in my opinion.
Kyle (Tom): He has dark hair and can look mean when he wants to when acting. But he can also act very caring, good for towards Sunny/Jodi. He also has a deep enough voice if he wants to, too, and Matt Dallas has a pretty deep voice, so they need to match.
Jared (Jensen): I don't know, but the first picture (I think it's the first) of him in the slide show just really reminds me of how I think Jared would look. He just seems right for the part. Darker hair, good build all around, tan enough. He could act mean or loving, it would work.
Jamie (Liam): Honestly, I mostly picked this one because in the videos I saw, mostly everyone picked this kid. He seems well enough for the part, I don't know who else could fit it. Suggestions?
The Seeker (Teal): She just has a bitchy-looking sort of face. I imagine the Seeker as a bitch, as she acts like it. Just imagine Teal with dark hair, and I think she'd fit the part well enough.
Uncle Jeb (Robert): Like I said, I saw him in everyone else's videos and he seemed right for the part to me. I don't know anyone else who could fit the part of Jeb.
Wanderer/Wanda (Alexis): This one I actually thought about, and Alexis popped into my head. She is so innocent looking, nobody could ever mistrust her face, just how Wanda is supposed to look in the end of the book. She just seems perfect to me.
Sharon (Amy): I'm not sure what Sharon is supposed to look like, I only read the book once. But she is a bitch towards Wanda like, all the time. Amy looks like she could pull it off, so I chose her.
Sunny/Jody (Alison): I imagine Sunny as shy, innocent. Alison looks like both.
I didn't put Doc or Aunt Maggie in this video because 1. I don't remember Doc's description, how old is he supposed to be? Hair color, skin tone? No clue., and 2. I don't know any old bitchy women that could fit her part. So yeah, you can give suggestions if you want.
