This video shows the GarageGames Torque X Platformer Starter Kit in action. The first part of this video shows the entire level building process in one continuous recording and is sped up about 3x normal speed. The whole level building process took just under 30 minutes. The tool being used is Torque X Game Builder. The second part of the video shows off a little bit of gameplay on the level that was created. This was recorded on Windows, but can be deployed in seconds to a retail XBox 360 console. There is no "behind the scenes" editing that takes place. Every action performed on the level that's used is shown in the first part of the video. All assets seen in this video are included with the starter kit. Lurking around, I found this gem. Its hard, its unexpected, its like Heart of Darkness for violence fetishes. (4:34 for those actually not expecting gameplay) Seriously, you get progressively worse as you fall off. Basically the story is this. Her mother and father go on an adventure and they take a few too many days long. As her sister cannot come along, she meekly goes by herself. For those not desensitized even in a positive matter, going through the most obvious traps may be your only survival or your death. It screws with you like, especially when there's a Active Time Situation like this is Shenmue. If you didn't backspace out of the game beforehand. I'll just put those even more suggestive parts out. The unfair platformer is an interestingly difficult game, aimed at making you frustrated. Personally, I found that entertaining (and addicting). The traps were set frequently, in unexpected places, and through trial and error (and maybe a little skill) you might make it through. This was more or less a bit of a runthrough of the first level, and I hope people will find it useful if they're pulling thier hair out over this game. There is no time limit, and there are unlimited lives, although it counts how many times you died. Here's the list of traps/ lives used in the game: 1 - The path to sunshine mountain is a fake! I guess you'll have to face Doom mountain instead. 2 - "These message boxes will always tell the truth". Yeah? Well, TRUTH HURTS LIKE HELL! *squished* 3 - A spontaneously appearing block bumps you on the head as you try to jump, and you fall into the pit. 4 - The block after the trap is a trap too! Who would've guessed? 5 - "Also, this game has traps in it" Yeah, we get it now. Can you please remove this spike from my abdomen? I'm getting a tummyache. 6 - Checkpoint! YA H- Oh, wait. I died. The floor between the first and second pillars it a set up too, huh? 7 - The third pillar has wooden stakes. not only do I have my face pierced, but there's splinters up my ass too! 8 - Last block also stabbed me in the back. He had a friend who tripped me too. 9 - Yeah, that was...an accident. Heh. 10 - Isn't that from zelda?! I hated those dungeons! 11 - OMG! dead end! I jumped, and...the top one got me in the back. OW. 12 - AGAIN! 13 - The floor dissapeared. AFTER ALL THAT! All in all, there are 11 traps. the 8th trap is an especially difficult one, and it takes a few tries to get it right. Rocket is a 3D platformer for the N64, developed by Sucker Punch (who'd later go on to develop the excellent Sly Cooper games). This short clip shows off a mine cart portion of one of the levels after I'd already cleared it (no items to pick up, sorry :( ). The slopes midway through the level were fairly tricky for me and you can see me nearly fall off a couple of times (including missing the mine cart afterwards...that would have sucked :( ), but I make it through ok and thankfully didn't have to rerecord the video or anything :) One of my favorite 3D platformers of all time and it holds up quite well alongside the two other really great N64 platformers, Mario 64 and Rayman 2.

Yeah, as the title says, this is the masochistic bitch of a platformer, Syobon Action. This is my 3rd time ever completing the game, but I can say my progress has been a bit unordinary on this game. It took me 67 lives to beat the game the first time, 37 to beat it the second time...then 2 to beat it the third time. The Terminator (by Bethesda Software, for the Nintendo Entertainment System platform) - Deathless speed run - Part 1. Performed by Daniel T (aka DTysonator) on a real NES home console, recorded on VHS, and digitally produced by "cyriades".
