Al-Qaeda's No.2 Ayman Zawahiri, recently released an audio tape in which he diminishes Barack Obama's recent victory and depicts the president-elect as a phony, the complete opposite of real African American heroes such as Malcolm X.
Zawahiri refers to Obama and other African-American politicians like Condoleeza Rice as "house slaves".
In the tape, Zawahiri stressed that Obama's victory will bring no change to the American people nor to the world, and that America is still an evil nation full of hate which promotes despotism and murder. He said Obama's election only puts a new face to these mean doctrines and policies America has strived in excelling throughout its history, but that the core of them remain intact. He added that Obama's plan of focusing more in Afghanistan is doomed to fail, convinced that the Afghans will resist as the Iraqis did and that they have also become like hungry dogs, acquiring a favorite taste for American flesh.
According to the Associated Press, Zawahiri warned Obama that America's fight is not against a small group or organization, but rather an Islamic Jihadi awakening spread all over the world. The third part of Zawahiri's statement was aimed at Muslims worldwide. He advised them that Obama's election does not change what al-Qaeda has for years sold as America's hostile stance towards Islam, and Muslims still have a duty to continue "causing harm" to the U.S.
"America's criminal, expansionist crusader project in your lands has only been neutralized by the sacrifices of your sons, the Mujahideen," said Zawahiri.
