Surat ini terdiri atas 30 ayat, termasuk golongan surat-surat Makkiyyah, diturunkan sesudah surat Al Lail. Nama Al Fajr diambil dari kata Al Fajr yang terdapat pada ayat pertama surat ini yang artinya fajar. Pokok-pokok isinya: Allah bersumpah bahwa azab terhadap orang-orang kafir tidak akan dapat dielakkan; beberapa contoh dari umat-umat yang sudah dibinasa kan; kenikmatan hidup atau bencana yang dialami oleh seseorang bukanlah tanda penghormatan atau penghinaan Allah kepadanya, melainkan cobaan belaka; celaan terhadap orang-orang yang tidak mau memelihara anak yatim dan tidak memberi makan orang miskin; kecaman terhadap orang yang memakan harta warisan dengan campur aduk dan orang yang amat mencintai harta; malapetaka yang dihadapi orang- orang kafir di hari kiamat; orang-orang yang berjiwa muthmainnah (tenang) mendapat kemuliaan di sisi Allah. Surat Al Fajr mengemukakan contoh umat yang ditimpa azab dan beberapa sifat-sifat manusia yang tercela, serta menegaskan kemuliaan yang diberikan Allah s.w.t kepada orang yang berjiwa tenang. HUBUNGAN SURAT AL FAJR DENGAN SURAT AL BALAD 1. Dalam surat Al Fajr terdapat celaan kepada orang yang amat mencintai harta warisan dengan campur aduk dan tidak membantu orang-orang miskin, sedang pada surat Al Balad dijelaskan penggunaan harta yang terpuji di sisi Allah yaitu memerdekakan hamba sahaya, memberi makan anak yatim dan anak-anak miskin. 2. Pada akhir surat Al Fajr manusia dibagi kepada ahli neraka dan ahli syurga. Sedang pada surat Al Balad disebutkan bahwa manusia dibagi kepada golongan kanan dan golongan kiri.

FROM MY JAZZ DJ'ING DAYS FOR ALL THE JAZZ DANCERS THE RARE VERSION OF THIS GREAT TRACK, WITH RESPECT TO ALL THE "FEVER" DJ'S IN NOTTINGHAM UK PARTICULARLY MY FRIENDS PABLO AND ERIC (HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS) Born June 23, 1925 in Savannah, GA, Died October 24, 1989 in Tennessee. In 1947 Sahib Shihab was the first in a wave of Jazz Musicians to embrace Islam; other artists that followed were Art Blakey, Yusef Lateef, McCoy Tyner, Idrees Suleiman.....and many more. Sahib Shihab was a master reedsman playing the Alto and Baritone Sax, but was more known for playing the flute and was one of the earliest boppers to use it. After his converting to Islam, he fell in with the early bop movement, recording several now-famous sides on alto with Thelonious Monk for Blue Note in 1947 and 1951, and playing with Art Blakey in 1949-1950 and the Tadd Dameron band in 1949. Following some empty patches where he had to work odd jobs for a living, Shihab played with Dizzy Gillespie in 1951-1952, Illinois Jacquet in 1952-1955, and the Oscar Pettiford big band in 1957. By 1959 he had moved to Europe whilst touring with the Quincy Jones Big Band and it is here that he created some of his most famous albums. From 1963 - 1972 he played with the Clarke Boland Big Band and it was with this outfit that he recorded his own albums.

You must see how this could be you, how he too was someone who journeyed through the night with plans and the simple breath that kept him alive. Before you know kindness as the deepest thing inside, you must know sorry as the other deepest thing. You must wake up with sorrow. You must speak it till your voice catches the thread of all sorrows and you see the size of the cloth. Then it is only kindness that makes any sense anymore, only kindness that ties your shoes and sends you out into the day to mail letters and purchase bread, only kindness that raises its head from the crowd of the world to say It is I you have been looking for, and then goes with you everywhere like a shadow or a friend.

Shihab Shahriar, a 7 years old little & cute angel is suffering by Blood Cancer for the last 2 & half years (The news also published in a newspaper of Bangladesh named "Amar Desh" on 8th August, 2008 and also telecasted on in a T.V channel named ATN Bangla. He is the only child of his parents. This cute and smiley little angel even don't know what's happened to him. He is now in "National University Hospital of Singapore" for better treatment. The good news is he will survive properly as the doctors confirmed but he needs to transplant his bonemarrow before 25th of this month. In the spring our palms peeled like snakes. True Arabs believed watermelon could heal fifty ways. I changed these to fit the occasion. Years before, a girl knocked, wanted to see the Arab. I said we didn't have one. After that, my father told me who he was, "Shihab"--"shooting star"-- a good name, borrowed from the sky. Once I said, "When we die, we give it back?" He said that's what a true Arab would say. Today the headlines clot in my blood. A little Palestinian dangles a truck on the front page. Homeless fig, this tragedy with a terrible root is too big for us. What flag can we wave? I wave the flag of stone and seed, table mat stitched in blue. I call my father, we talk around the news. It is too much for him, neither of his two languages can reach it. I drive into the country to find sheep, cows, to plead with the air: Who calls anyone civilized? Where can the crying heart graze?
