In what was a world premier, the remaining ten acts were joined by members of Girlband and Bad Lashes to perform the single that everybody hopes will be going straight to Number One.
During the results show, the finalists put all their rivalries to one side and took to the stage as a unit, a group of people with the power and opportunity to do something for the greater good. And when they all began to sing the Mariah Carey classic, Hero, in perfect harmony - it was obvious something special was happening.
Proceeds from the record will be divided equally between Help for Heroes a charity that provides support for wounded servicemen and women, and the Poppy Appeal.

Ok, I just want to clear something up.
Daniel and Ruth are not there because there was a technical fault with the doors they was supposed to be walking through (wouldn't open).

This single topped the official UK singles chart for three weeks after release (2nd November 2008)!
And topped the download chart on iTunes & Play.com.
Play.com recording that more than 700 people a minute downloading the song after the show.
This single is outselling the rest of the songs in the top ten combined, so it's on track to become the top selling single of 2008.
