Enough people asked about Natasha's reaction to the proposal that I figured I'd post a clip from our episode of "A Perfect Proposal," where they caught the whole thing on camera. We lured Natasha to the theater under the guise that a fake reality TV show called "Popcorn Picks" was shooting there. We were "lucky" enough to win a free limo ride and red carpet treatment to the theater for us and four other couples. Unbeknownst to Natasha, the entire theater was filled with over 100 of our friends and family. (It was dark when we came in, with a camera light in our faces so we couldn't see a thing.) Natasha didn't have a clue what was going on until the words came up at the end. Thanks to everyone for all your comments on "Love Letters." We really appreciate them, even if we haven't had a chance to respond to them all.

I produced this animation as a way of proposing to my girlfriend (now wife) Natasha. I assembled a team of 20 animators to assist me, including co-workers, as well as students from my 3D character animation class at the Art Institute of California-San Francisco. We created more than four minutes of animation in just three months. When it was completed, I surprised Natasha by bringing her to the Parkway Movie Theater in Oakland, where they played the animation on the big screen in front of over 100 of our friends and family. The entire event was filmed for the TLC television show "A Perfect Proposal." Director's Note: I pulled a George Lucas and retrofitted the opening shot of the animation to show a photo of the Natasha design from "The Invitation" rather than the earlier drawing of Natsha I had done, which I was never quite satisfied with. Also, after receiving many a tersely written emails, I finally decided to listen to the fans and have completely removed all scenes with Jar Jar Binks. FAQs: Q: "What software program did you use to create your animations?" A: All animation was done in Maya and edited together in Adobe After Effects. A sequel to last year's "Love Letters." This time Natasha is the star as she tries to come up with the perfect wedding invitation. We burned this animation onto DVD's and sent it out as our actual wedding invitation. It took nine months to complete, and was produced entirely as part of a group project class at the Art Institute of California - San Francisco where I'm an instructor of animation. A big thanks to all my students, who did an incredible job (you guys rock!), and to my fellow faculty and staff who've been so supportive. *Note - To everyone who posted about the date of our wedding: it was on the 30th of June, NOT the 13th. It just looks like thirteenth because of the small size of the video. Oh, and the wedding was this past summer, not the summer of '07. (Not that we wouldn't have LOVED all you YouTubers there.)
